Manual Handling

This course is designed for all employees who are required to move, lift or carry objects. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations places a duty on every employer to reduce the potential injury from manual handling operations.

This manual handling course covers:

• Spinal anatomy and relating injuries 
• The Regulations 
• Basic rules and practice 
• Risk assessment and risk reduction planning 

After completing Manual Handling, delegates can go on to complete the additional session on Patient Handling. This is usually done on the same day. 

On successful completion of the course delegates will be presented with a certificate.

This session can usually be combined with Health and Safety and still be delivered within a relatively short session. 

Patient Handling

This additional session is designed for staff who are required to move people. Delegates should have successfully completed the ManualHandling course, but both sessions may be completed on the same day.
